Mary McPartlan

A tribute to Mary from her friends & fellow musicians

Thursday 27th August, 7pm & Saturday 29th August, 6pm

Tickets €4 in aid of the Irish Cancer Society

This sparkling on-line event pays a tribute to our colleague Mary McPartlan (1955-2020). Mary left us in the early days of Lockdown in April, preventing most of us from paying our respects to Paddy Noonan, her husband and to her family.

This virtual concert then will be the first since her passing that allows us to come together to honour her work and to remember her. The event will feature verbal tributes from friends and colleagues, a specially composed song in Mary’s honour from Sam Gleaves, master of the Appalachian banjo and song writer, whom Mary met at Berea College, Kentucky, and a special piece from her long time friend Máirtín O’Connor.

No tribute could be complete without some songs from Mary herself and these will be accompanied by an animated photo essay, highlighting her very active life and her enormous contribution to the Arts in Galway, Ireland and internationally.

When you purchase a ticket for either concert you will get an email (30 minutes before the stat time) with:

  • a link to log into the website to watch the concert

  • a zoom link so you can watch the concert on one device and be in an optional zoom watch event at the same time.

BONUS

You will also get a link to view the video until Wed 2nd September at 6pm. You will need a youtube account (attached to the email you use to purchase the ticket). This links will be sent out within one working day. Tickets available to purchase up to 6.50pm on Sat 29th August.
