'To celebrate our city of culture and the wealth of artistic and creative talent in the University and the wider Galway Community, the University is partnering with local artists and creators for the first NUI Galway Virtual Festival. Featuring Theatre, Visual Art, Music, Film, Gaming and Social events for all age groups and interests. We hope you will join us."
The Festival is hosted by NUI Galway’s Societies Office. There are many free events to enjoy throughout the festival and a series of timetabled events. tickets for these are available online.

Theatre
Featuring (ISDA) Irish Student Drama Awards Festival with 12 virtual productions from 6 colleges and the Awards Ceremony
Be part of the jury in 'WikiLeaks on Trial' with Hot Potato Production. There is interactive Children's Theater from Beluga with 'Bella the Beluga' for age 4 +. 'Luna' is an intriguing drama from Dramsoc, you choose the ending.
Two radio dramas on the lives of Delia Murphy & Michael Davitt.
Music
We have two virtual concerts and awards ceremony planned for you to watch via live stream. Choirs in Galway will be features in our virtual Choral Concert, including The Galway Baroque Singers, Cois Cladaigh, Vox Orbis, Schola Cantorum, NUI Galway Musical Society & the NUI Galway Staff and Student choirs. The second is a memorial concert for singer and NUI Galway staff member Mary McPartlan from her fellow musicians and friends. The Musical Society (GUMS) will host their annual Schools Musical Competition.
Gaming
Join Galway Game Developers and gamers for a variety of events, including a video montage from Galway Game Developers followed by a virtual Q & A. On line demos with Galway Game Developers including Romero Games with their soon to be released "Empire of Sin', via a twitch stream hosted by a popular Galway streamer.
Compsoc's Minecraft Creative & Survival Servers will be up during the week for anyone who wants to hop on and say hello!
Film
The festival will feature nine film shorts made by students from the Huston School of Film and members of the NUI Galway Film Society. A series of NUI Galway Films from the College of Medicine and ICAPSS on how actors contribute to health care education: 'Playing Sick', CÚRAM SFI Centre for Medical Devices: 'AfterImage' and 'History of Life' from NUI Galway Earth & Ocean Sciences. 'Merlin Woods' a compilation of adventures in nature with Colin and Caroline Stanley of Friends of Merlin Woods filmed for SocsBox Live during the Summer.
